Love speaks in many voices; playful and passionate, intimate and eternal, earthly and divine. In Echoes of Love, the New Jersey Chamber Singers explore how love resounds across centuries, cultures, and hearts. From the graceful charm and emotional nuance of the Liebeslieder Waltzes, Op. 52 by Johannes Brahms to the tenderness of Love: Then and Still by Susan LaBarr, this program traces love’s evolution, how it matures, deepens, and endures. The serene blessing of This Marriage by Eric Whitacre and the radiant lyricism of O Love by Elaine Hagenberg capture love at its most intimate and transcendent.
The program’s spiritual heart shines through in Tu pauperum refugium by Josquin des Prez, a Renaissance masterpiece of devotion, and the invocation of Veni Sancte Spiritus by Zanaida Robles. In Love Never Fails by Norma Jean Hughes, love becomes steadfast strength: patient, enduring, and unshakeable. When Music Sounds by Connor Koppin frames the journey of love, reminding us that music itself is an echo of love, vibrating through time after the sound itself fades. Every harmony carries a memory, every phrase a promise. Join NJCS in our concert season "Echoes of Love," where love, then and still, resounds.
